Selma Rıza Feraceli (Türkiye)
Selma Rıza, born in Istanbul in 1872, is considered the first Turkish female journalist and novelist of the Tanzimat period. Fluent in French, she was also the only female member of the Committee of Union and Progress. In 1897, she wrote the novel Uhuvvet, which focused on women's rights. Selma Rıza has always been an exemplary Turkish woman with her many patriotic writings. She also took part in the Hilal-i Ahmer Society.
Shafiga Efendizadeh (Azerbaijan)
Shafiga Efendizadeh, born in 1883, made valuable contributions to the education of women in Azerbaijan and played a significant role in shaping public opinion. She became a pioneer for women in her country by holding important positions such as teaching at a school that provided pedagogy training to train female teachers and serving as the secretary of the newspaper Doğu Kadını. Today, a school in Baku bears her name, keeping her legacy alive.
Nazipa Kulzhanova (Kazakhstan)
Nazipa Kulzhanova, born in Torgai city in 1887, aimed to serve her nation throughout her educational journey. She wrote numerous articles about women's rights in the newspapers Kazak, Saryarka, and Alash. Additionally, she authored textbooks for Kazakh schools, making significant contributions to her nation.
Sobira Kholdorova (Uzbekistan)
Born in the city of Chust in 1907, Sobira Kholdorova studied journalism and moved to Tashkent in 1923 to study at the women's education institute. She became the editor of the magazine Yangi Yol and, in 1929, received a diploma as the first female journalist among the local nations of the Central Asian Republics. Despite her challenging life, she remains one of Uzbekistan's prominent figures.
